We are hearing chirping sounds from the eggs in the incubator
baby chicks any time now!!
10:05 am - one egg is beginning to crack....
1:25 pm - three more eggs have peep cracks....
I had no idea this cracking out of shells took so long!

2:35 pm - chick number one has hatched!
the newborn chicks stay in the incubator until they are completely dry. They live off their yolk sac which is still inside them for as long as 3 days.
3:35 pm - chick number two is hatched!
Their first steps!
